All client details are kept confidential and are not shared,
sold, passed onto others, or given away, except where I need to for referral
reasons (which will only ever be done with written client permission) or where
I have to by law.
You can view your confidential information at any time; all
you need to do is ask.
Sanctuary Counselling and Consultancy requires your
information in order to be able to contact you.
Any notes taken during a session are also kept confidential
and are the property of Sanctuary Counselling and Consultancy. The only reason
these notes would be “shared” with anyone is if they were specifically wanted
in a court of law!
If a client wishes to disclose to friends or family what
happens in session, then that is their business. Sanctuary Counselling and
Consultancy employees are under confidentiality and cannot discuss client’s
details.
Not everything in a session can be kept confidential. If a
client states that they have been or are being harmed by another person, or if
a client states that they wish to harm themselves or another person – then by
law, under these circumstances the police or other official persons will need
to be contacted. These circumstances include suicide ideation and all forms of
abuse and maltreatment.
